These were the last K.G.VI issues for Bahrain but, before the first
Q.E.II stamps appeared, Manama Post Office had taken into use the
“killer” cancellers (Types 26 and 26A) and steel Registered cancellers
which are found with or without the number T (Types 27 and 27A);
that with the number may have been used at Awali.
A Parcel Post canceller (Type 28: not illustrated, but similar in
style to Kuwait Type 37) was also used from about this time; it was
struck in violet in 1954 and later in black and was still in use in 1961,
even though its shape had become grossly distorted very early on.
The first Q.E.II definitives, l!4a. and 2]^a. were issued on
December 5th, 1952; and the remaining values up to the R1 on ls.6d.
followed on various dates up to January 1954.

Off centre surcharge. The missing
The ^a./Mid. (Tudor Crown E2R wmk.) was released on August
31st, 1953, and the first printing produced a most unusual error —
