At the beginning of the year, the entire College
made their way to the Sunbury Aquatic Centre for
the annual Salesian College Swimming Carnival.
It was great to see so many students representing
their Houses through swimming, playing water
volleyball, competing in the ‘Staff/Student Biggest
Bomb Competition’, or contributing to the ‘Build a
Raft Race’, which provided plenty of laughs.
Congratulations to O’Grady House who were
crowned winners on the day under the leadership
of House Captains, Charlie Greenwood and Daisy
Shoebridge. This year was the second House
Swimming Carnival in a row won by O’Grady; it’s
no coincidence that they had the highest
participation rate on the day!
Well done to the following swimmers who were
awarded Age Champions on the day:
13 Years: Female – Lulu Slater (MacKillop)
Male – Mitchell Fitzpatrick (Bunjil)
14 Years: Female – Abbey Vickery (Bunjil)
Male – Austin Burnell (Maiocco)
15 Years: Female – Tiannah Brne (O’Grady)

Male – Lachlan Campbell (Mahoney)
HOUSE
16 Years: Female – Tahlia West (Colliton)
Male – Johnathon Need (Bunjil)
Open: Female – Bianca Need (Bunjil)
Male – Bradley Bruce (O’Grady)
Congratulations must also go to Mr Vic Gati and
Hayden Lane of Colliton House who combined
forces to take out our first ever ‘Staff/Student
Biggest Bomb Competition’ with a score of 8.5/10
from the independent judges. Plenty of laughs
were shared during our ‘Build a Raft Race’ too.
We’re pretty confident that all competitors were
SWIMMING
disqualified and Mr. Johnston and his Colltion
team were last to touch the wall.
