The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is an 2018 Bronze recipients:
outdoor education program which is offered at Tara Andreula
the College. This year has been our biggest year Sofia Barham
yet with 80 Year 9 students working towards Ashton Bolger

undertaking the Gold award level across Kiera Buzza
Years 11 and 12. Izabella Crawford
Alex Cruickshank
In order to achieve the award, students must
Samantha Dellar
complete three sections - skills, service, and Amity Drayton
physical recreation. This has seen them take up
Ashleigh Furniss
new skills such as cooking and photography, Olivia Floreani
assist in the community at charities or schools,
Kane Frew
and improve their skills and knowledge of their Thomas Grainger
team or individual sport. Each participant has set
Harry Manders
their own goals and worked towards achieving Michaela Morris
them.
Ayden McDowell
At Bronze level, the students also undertook 20 Maddison Nash
weeks training in outdoor education learning Lachlan Nesbitt
skills such as camp cooking, map reading, Riley Page
leadership, and first aid, and completed two Georgia Phillips

Park, and one to the Brisbane Ranges. Hannah Smajila

Grace Walker

Mia Wright
Our Year 11 group of Gold awardees spent four Dylan Visscher

to Tasmania for their final trip in January. 2018 Silver recipients:
Tristan Andreula
Completing the award requires a high level of Mia Bergamasco
organization, personal motivation, teamwork, and Lewis Bouckley
DUKE OF
leadership. The effort and commitment required Ebony Carlin
to achieve the Gold level of the Award is so Malainey Clark
considerable that only 70 students achieved the Izaac Chatfield
Award in Victoria last year. Jessica Evans
Teagan Fox
This makes it an even more amazing effort that
Michelle Grover
this year Salesian College Sunbury has had
Mackenzie Hayes
