SIDE MOUNT (TRANSITION TO FULL
MOUNT) Groundfighting
The side mount is a position of great advantage. However, the defender may feel
the need or desire to transition to a full mount.
STARTING POSITION: Assume a Side Mount (page 332).
1. Slide your bottom knee (the one closest to his hip) up and across his stomach.
If you lift your knee into the air, he may slip under you; if you try to move your
knee across a lower part of his body, his own knee may block you.
