My first specialty as a journalist/photojournalist was education, with an emphasis On weekends I often would take the subway downtown to Soho to have brunch
on arts education. This gave me a great excuse to hang out at cool schools, like or just wander around with my camera. Where else would one encounter a
the Professional Children’s School, alma mater of Dustin Hoffman and Milton beautiful woman reading a book, while waiting to use the pay phone, an island
Berle and many other well-known figures in the arts and entertainment. I dug onto herself?
PCS so much that I found an excuse to write about it twice. This photo, of some
of the junior thespians, models and comedians—guess who was what—and
the like hanging out at the cafeteria, helps explains why.
