THE Archer Mountain Community is a com- munity of people comprised of Christian Brothers from the Edmund Rice tradition and lay people, some of whom live on the property and others who gather each month for spiritual nourishment and visioning of the community’s outreach and mission.
The community is set within the beautiful Stanley River Valley, bordered by the Con- nondale and D’Aguilar ranges, the Glasshouse Mountains and the hills of Kilcoy.
It stands at the base of Mount Archer.
The prime focus of the community is to
take up the recent encyclical of Pope Francis Laudate Si’, to care for the Earth, to explore the
Divine especially as experienced in the “Book of Nature” and to wonder at the new revelations of science and the revelations of the scriptures on the “Universe Story”, the Jesus Story, the human story and its rightful place within the whole Earth community.
“We believe that silence, solitude and a contemplative stance to living is essential to dis- covering the Divine and, to this end, we provide a number of spaces for people to come to be in the silence and to experience solitude in their search for God,” a spokesperson for the Archer Mountain Community said.
