• Responsible for leading a staff of 108 FTE in delivering community-focused service through
the Stockton-San Joaquin County Library and City of Stockton Recreation Services.
• Develop and administer an annual department budget of $16 million for a City with a
population of 300,000 and Library service area of 745,000.
• Oversee expenditures and capital planning for the Strong Communities Initiative (Measure
M), a 16-year, $200 million-dollar sales tax to support Recreation and Libraries.
• Scope of responsibility includes oversight of 15 Libraries, 5 Community Centers, Pixie Woods
children’s theme park, two soccer complexes and two softball complexes.
• Responsible for City special events such as Movies at the Point, Concerts in the Park and
management of the Stockton Civic Auditorium.
• Negotiate and manage contractual relationships with additional agencies to operate over a
dozen additional facilities including 2 municipal golf courses, 7 pools, and a Teen Center.
