Developed the 1st Park Service Ambassadors Program in hopes of empowering the
community to take ownership of their parks and contribute to program outlets in the City
of Fresno, CA
Responsible for working with the City on design and development for the 1st Multi-gen
Recreation Center for youth, teens and mature adults in the City of Fresno, CA
Successfully streamlined any/all communication to and from Community Organizations in
hopes of changing any/all negative outlooks about the City of Fresno Parks, particularly
from South west Fresno residents.
Developed the first Marketing Coordinator for the department in hopes of exposing all
programming, facilities and new expansions to the general public in the City of Fresno
Realigned the Fresno Parks Department job shadowing programming through partnerships
with Fresno State, Fresno City, Fresno/Central Unified, EOC and Fresno Regional
Workforce Development.
Finalizing the City of Fresno, CA Parks Department’s first partnership with Fresno Housing
Authority to offer various programs for urban youth in Southwest Fresno. The overall plan
was to offer mobile programs in sports development, health and wellness, environmental
and education through services in local Apartments. Since there are no recreation services
being offered with the housing authority, this partnership bridged “the leisure hold” and
address transportation issues due to youth not having transportation to participate in City
wide services.
Finalized a partnership with Fresno Unified Mentoring Department and the Men’s and
Women’s Alliance Program for job placement of 5-10 students in the parks department.
Funding came from Fresno Unified School District and this is the department’s first
partnership with Fresno Unified Mentoring Department.
Worked with FUSD (Fresno Unified School District) Adult School to develop Fresno Parks
first Media and Technology Program in the City. The Youth Dicky Center media space was
utilized as storage room for years. Year to Date staff is cleaning out the storage room in
hopes of offering Media/Photography Classes with FUSD to inner City Youth and Senior
Citizens.
Finalized a partnership with Blake Konczal, Exec Director of Workforce Connection. The
organization agreed to fund a portion of the Junior Referee Program developed by the
Director for trading and vocational purposes
Oversight of the Community Services Division and drafting of the Senior Center Program
and Renovation Plans for the City. In addition to drafting program plans for the
Multi-generational Center, Manchester Center and Blackstone/McKinley Senior location
Responsible for researching and purchasing E Counter’s for the Parks Department for
numbers and generating purposes. E counters are designed to collect annual attendance
data by using foot traffic counters and bicycle counters for parks and recreation facilities.
Having e-counters will help in developing grant proposals and justifying investments for
budget purposes
Due to the development of several new dog parks in the City of Fresno, CA I developed the
City of Fresno, CA 1st Canine Committee. The purpose of the committee is to empower staff
to develop leisure services, particularly for dogs while identify and developing strategies
for the betterment of the community
