DUTIES As the manager of the Design Division, I assist the department administration with the development and implementation of both
departmental and divisional policies. I am also responsible for developing and monitoring division budget, assisting and consulting
with subordinate supervisors regarding administrative, personnel and technical engineering problems within the division, and
representing department management in working with boards, commissions, other departments and agencies, engineering
consultants, contractors, and the public. I am also overseeing the preparation of construction plans, specifications, and contract
documents for various Public Works projects including roads, bridges, water and wastewater treatment facilities, traffic signals, and
traffic and transportation programs and studies; County’s real property transactions, and formation of County Service Areas and
Underground Utility Districts. In my capacity, I am also responsible to oversee the involvement of High Speed Rail within the Fresno
County which includes but not limited to review and approval of the design of 11 High Speed Rail overpasses on County roads.

DUTIES As a Senior Engineer in the Design Division of the Department of Public Works and Planning, I was in charge of a section that
prepared construction plans, specifications, reports, and estimates for various engineering projects. My staff were also responsible
for administering construction and consultant contract agreements. In this respect, they were expected to monitor and apply State
Statutes and County Policies for changes in processing requirements in construction and consultant contract document solicitation,
preparation, and processing. I was also responsible for managing timely preparation of Board of Supervisors agenda items for
Environmental approvals, construction project advertising and award, and consultant services agreements. I represented the Design
Division in meetings with the public, other agencies, Divisions and Departments within the County, and Boards and Commissions.
Other tasks included; review of traffic impact studies in relation to development and design projects, processing of project
environmental applications, administering the County Plan Line program, maintaining traffic signal priority list and the railroad safety
and grade separation program.
