12/1990 – 12/1994 Assistant Professor
Civil Engineering Department
Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Isfahan, Iran
In addition to teaching the following courses; Dynamics, Theory of Structures,
Structural Dynamics, Advanced Strength of Materials, Theory of Elasticity, and
Theory of Plates and Shells, I initiated a collaborative research effort to develop
new techniques in passive and active structural control to improve the behavior of
structures under seismic loads. I also supervised graduate and undergraduate
projects, and served in department committees.
08/1986 – 05/1987 Graduate Research Assistant
University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA
Studied the abrasion wear problem in cast-iron valves and tested several types of
coatings to mitigate this problem. Also conducted research on the fatigue crack
growth of internal cracks in E.T.P. copper.
08/1982 – 05/1990 Graduate Teaching Assistant
University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA
As a graduate teaching assistant, I taught undergraduate engineering mechanics
courses and laboratories such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials,
Mechanics of Materials Laboratory, Concrete Design Laboratory, and Soil
Mechanics Laboratory.
