Remote System Access
When remote system access is enabled, you can control, update, and configure the system
remotely.
To enable remote system access, complete these procedures:
l Create a myCrestron Domain Name (below)
l Pair the Processor with a myCrestron Domain Name (on the next page)
l Configure Port Mapping on a Router (on the next page)
NOTE: To turn on remote access on the customer's mobile devices, refer to Pair User Interface
Devices (on page 647).
Create a myCrestron Domain Name
To create a myCrestron domain name:
1. Go to mycrestron.com.
2. Select Register Domain.
3. Enter the required information in the Add a new Subdomain page.
l Domain Name: The subdomain name that will be used for remote access to the
system. The domain name is a subdomain of mycrestron.com, for example, the
domain name "CustomerExampleHome" will use the URL
CustomerExampleHome.mycrestron.com for remote access to the system.
NOTE: A message is displayed if the domain name is already in use.
l Domain Password: The password used to protect the system from access by others.
For example, it prevents someone from updating the IP Address of the subdomain.
l Project Name: The descriptive name of the project.
l Customer Name: The name of the customer.
l Notes: Information that may be important in the future and help differentiate
different systems for the same customer.
4. To register the domain name, select Submit.
