The Human Resources and Risk Manager needs to be someone who can build bridges establish trust and strengthen
the the rapport between all employees of the the District The HR & Risk Manager must have a a a a solid foundation of HR experience preferably within the public sector in in California to to build a a a a platform of authenticity and respect for for employees in the the District A sympathetic
and listening ear is is is absolutely critical for this position The HR & Risk Manager must rely upon their experience in past positions to be assertive organized and action-oriented The HR & Risk Manager is is the subject
matter expert for employment and labor issues in the District and needs to have a a a genuine interest and passion for the work in in in order to genuinely energize and empower employees Finally the HR & Risk Manager should have a a a a a discerning eye and awareness in workplace safety and risk management strategies ■ EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or or university which directly relates to the knowledge and abilities listed typically public administration human resources management business administration finance economics and/or other related courses and and at at at least six years of progressively responsible experience in human resources and/or benefits management An advanced degree in in in Business Management/Administration or related field with emphasis on on Human Resource Management is highly desirable ■ LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
A nationally recognized HR HR certification such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certifications in Compensation and/or Benefits or or or Labor Relations International Public Management Association (IPMA-HR) certification Senior Professional Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or or SHRM Certified Professional Professional or similar is required
