Play Onwards Volume 1
Questions & Answers
Does the workbook require the help of a parent or teacher?
Yes indeed! A parent should stay close to her children’s work area so as to answer any
questions they will have. Doubtless, they will have many. After an exercise has been done, on
paper, parents must check the work to make sure it has been done properly and that the several
vocabulary words are generally understood. The best way to do this is to have children use
the vocabulary words in sentences of their own making.
Will any of the exercises be too hard for youngsters to do?
No. The exercises remain invariably easy throughout the workbook.
Can this book be used at home as well as school?
Yes.
For what grade is this workbook geared?
It may be used by preschoolers, first, second, third, or fourth graders, or anyone else who is
just beginning to read. It may also be used in upper grades, including middle school. Students
who can already read can use it to develop a richer vocabulary. It builds all four vocabularies,
as it were: reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
Is Natural Reader compatible with this workbook?
No. Only the built-in Adobe Reader can be used.
When should I start my children on this workbook?
After your children have been drilled for a couple months on the "Six Basic Fun PDFs" (i.e.
Phonics Charts, Printing and Cursive, Titles in Storyland, Families 1 and 2, and Derivatives),
they should then be sufficiently prepared to handle these exercises.
How long should it take my child to finish this workbook?
It depends on four factors: one, your child's motivation and aptitude; two, the age and
maturity of your child; three, your ability as a teacher to enkindle your child's inquisitive
spirit; and, four, the time you are able to devote to this task. Depending on these four
factors, you should be able to complete all the exercises within a half year, give or take a few
months.
