How Jim and Guy did vie to eat the most apple pie! They ate

as though it were do or die, for neither wanted to lose or tie.

Regardless of how hard Jim did try, he couldn't top the

ninety-nine pieces eaten by Guy.

Now, had I not seen this with my very own eye, I'd say that

this was one a•tro•cious lie!

Story 189

Bribed

The scribe reports that the pitcher has "thrown" the game

for the Tribe. He says, "Ed Kyb grew tired of the fans jibe,

and took a bribe. He got $5000 and a free paint job from

Earl Schieb."
