SAP

The Situation

n 2015 HPE signed a contract with SAP to deliver HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC) infrastructure and
Iservices to Queensland Government.
The initial solution was to build and deliver HEC Infrastructure as a Service, and the solution was built in late
2015/early 2016 utilising EG product, Technical Consulting, Flexible Capacity, Data Centre Management,
Data Centre Care, Technology Services Management Centre (TSMC) and Account Management. The
Queensland HEC delivers services for Queensland Treasury, Department of Natural Resources and
Minerals, and Office of State Revenue.
Since then, HPE have also undertaken support of Shared Services Centre in Canberra (the Canberra HEC)
as well as extended the services to provide Platform as a Service to both Queensland and Canberra. The
account has now grown to $12.6M - overseen by Account Delivery Manager, Renee Morcos.

Challenges

T here are always challenges with supporting new solutions, and the HECs were no exception.

For TSMC this included resourcing for SAP Basis support as well as skilling up in the infrastructure
components of the solution. A major hurdle had been achieving the certifications that SAP require
for support of the solution. This includes ISO 27001 (Information Security) and ISO 22301 (Business
Continuity) as well as IRAP certification for the Canberra HEC.

Highlights

The people are wonderful” says Renee, “It has been great to work with such an amazing team - they are
“motivated and driven, with a focus on the customer and a handle on the complexity of the environment”.

Renee is also keen to reap the benefits of this steep learning curve - once we are certified we will be
looking at supporting other government agencies, possibly even providing a more secure solution for
delivering services for “Protected” level data.

We spoke to Renee Morcos, Account Delivery
