EVENTS
& ACTIVITIES
The implications of the COVID-19 pandemic affected the schedule of events and activities for ETAF in 2020, and its
effect was felt across the many partners and programs that we worked with last year. We were able to be nimble around most activities to adjust to a virtual format, and the work towards an AIDS-free world became more important than ever as people living with HIV were now fighting two pandemics. The following are highlights of the activities of ETAF for 2020.
ETAF was delighted to be a Diamond Level Sponsor for
the 28th Annual AIDSWatch hosted by AIDS United in partnership with the US PLHIV Caucus and the Treatment Access Expansion Project. With plans to have a traditional gathering in Washington, D.C., March 23-24, 2020, AIDSWatch had to quickly pivot to a virtual event after the COVID-19 pandemic erupted in early March.
Demonstrating tremendous flexibility and hard-work, the 2020 AIDSWatch had its largest attendance in their history, with 2500 attendees. This was the 5th year that ETAF was a high-level sponsor of AIDS United.
