4.0% Applebee's Market Basket
Applebee’s 2016 full year Market Basket ended down (favorable) by 4.0%
versus full year 2015. This favorability was driven primarily by lower beef,
seafood, and poultry costs as protein markets made their way off cyclical highs
seen from 2012 to 2014.
FAVORABLE Ten of the twelve product categories we track in the Market Basket (over 70
specific ingredient items), cost less in 2016 than they did in 2015. The chart
