     2009 PROTOTYPES | TARGET
The exterior refresh of the 2009 prototypes was built on the foundation of the 2004 prototype designs but with more emphasis on the implied horizontal movement, some additional “Target Red” elements, and a perceived reduction in scale through the use of wall cadence, material selections and color changes.
Most elements of the store’s interior environment were also given a fresh look or were completely redesigned. This page and the next page include more detail of the design initiatives for the interior environments. Most of the interior design work was coordinated closely with the internal Target Store Planning group. Several presentations with the senior leadership team were conducted and approval to proceed was ultimately received in August, 2007.
