Roll up, roll up for medieval family fun
J OIN in the fun as Chesterfield remembers its medieval past at the town’s Medieval Fun Day on Tuesday, 24th July.
The event is organised by Chesterfield Borough Council and takes place from 10am to 4pm.
Stallholders on the open-air market will be in fancy dress, selling goods and running games for children.
Take a trip up the Tower at the Crooked Spire church to see Chesterfield from up high and get a close up view of the Spire. Adults £6, Children £4.
The event brings a medieval encampment to the grounds of the church with a living history display all day. Meet knights and ladies, have a go at pike drill and watch skirmishes at intervals throughout the day with troop marches through the town to the Market Place.
Head to Rykneld Square to see the ever popular Court Jester entertain the crowds outside the Visitor
Information Centre.

Legend of Castle Theobald Puppet
Theatre, medieval beggars, dragon and knight, funfair and
medieval monks.
Head to Chesterfield Museum to see the Potion
Master at work with his tricks and tonics show.
The day promises to be lots of fun for all the family.
