TOP THINGS WE'LL MISS ABOUT LIFE AT 19 TURKEY HILL
1. We love entertaining our friends and family so one of the reasons we
bought 29 Turkey Hill Road North was that we could envision holidays and
weekends, Christenings and birthdays laid out in the formal dining room with
guests spilling into the kitchen, family room and out into the patio. It has the perfect
layout for hosting and entertaining!
2. Our guests always say how cozy and relaxed and at ease they feel in our home, which was
my number one goal. Both of our families are two hours away, so when we get together,
we have family members who stay for days and there is plenty of space for everyone to
stretch out. The very private 3rd level is great for out of town guests to stay where they
can have a little reprieve from the little ones after a long day of playing. Down the road,
we could see the third level being a teenage hangout for the kids or even a home office
for me or Chris.
3. The front porch! Such a dream to have for every season where so many beautiful
memories have been made. It’s the perfect place to drink our hot chocolate or
lemonade while watching the kids jump in the leaves in the fall, make snowmen
during those cold winter afternoons, race their go karts in the spring, and play in the
sprinkler to beat the summer heat. And when the kids are finally down for the night,
it’s a wonderful place to enjoy an adult beverage and reminisce about the day.
4. The back yard! The yard used to be tighter, with a shed, large freestanding swing
and lots of older shrubbery lining the fence. We worked hard the first couple of
years to open it up and to make space for more play, and a swing set, which the
kids love. We also look forward to mulching and planting flowers each spring and
seeing our peony and hydrangea blooms come back more beautiful year after year.
5. The sunlight in our master bedroom (really, throughout the house) is a dream.
Always a happy and bright space especially with the skylights. Makes for a great
storm watching party with the kids.
6. Brantley's room that doubles as a play room! What a nice bonus room that's been.
7. The extra large farmhouse sink in the kitchen! Doubles as a great bathtub for baby for
first 5 months or so. I also have loved entertaining in the updated kitchen, prepping dinner
watching my favorite cooking shows and just chilling with my girlfriends having a glass of wine
after the kids are in bed.
