AN INTERVIEW WITH THE HOMEOWNER
We began our home search and it was clear to our agent that we weren't going to
find an existing home. We had specific likes and dislikes that just weren't available to
us at the time. Then one day she drove us to an empty cul-de-sac. What an
opportunity! Living on a cul-de-sac is the perfect place to raise a family. Our home
was designed by us in 1994 to compliment the cul-de-sac, hence the curved front of
the house. Light was very important to us, so we added many bay windows. We also
needed the perfect space for our grand piano and a room that would compliment
its sound. Closet space was also key. Most of all we wanted a place to get away
from the noise of congested downtown with space to move around and not worry
about our kids playing outside. Brett Woods was the biggest asset of course since our
property borders a private entrance to this wonderful enchanting 186 acre park.
After living at our home for 5 or so years, we decided to undertake a huge project
and terrace the backyard so we could have an amazing pool for summer
entertainment. With three massive stone walls, secret garden, fountain and pool, the
dream was created. At the time, we weren't quite ready for the pool house, so we
had the foundation poured for a later time. Sadly that time never came, but we
hope the next owner will add to this amazing sanctuary with a very special pool
house.
We are on to the next chapter of our lives that will include building another home,
travel and winter visits to Florida. Now that our three girls are almost half-way through
college, we don't need this large of a property anymore since they are not here very
often to help us enjoy it.
