An Interview with...
THE OWNERS OF 25 ABBEY ROAD SINCE 2003,
DAVID AND ANN MARIE PURCELL
Q: WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS PROPERTY AND HOME?
A: When coming from New Jersey we wanted something quiet and private but very convenient
to everything. We just fell in love with all that this location has to offer. With two young boys
we wanted Blue Ribbon schools and a cul-de sac, the trails for the kids to hike and the pond
for fishing and skating were just an added bonus. The lifestyle it offered seemed like a Norman
Rockwell painting. Add to that the incredible structural integrity, the amazing floor plan, the
spacious home office, and the curb appeal, and we knew immediately that this was the perfect
home for our family.
Q: TELL US ABOUT THE LOCATION:
A: I'm so glad we chose this location because we still have good city access while enjoy an amazing
lifestyle. We literally have every convenience 1 mile away...a farmers market, supermarkets,
restaurants, the highway so close by, Greiser's Coffee Shop in Easton and all the farms! Oh,
how I will miss getting everything fresh every week. Whether I go to Monroe, Easton or Fairfield,
everything is minutes away. It is not very far from for commuters and is worth the extra few
minutes to come home after a long day and relax into paradise.
Q: WHAT IS THE NEIGHBORHOOD LIKE?
A: There are ten homes on this cul-de-sac and it is engaging while allowing for privacy. Everyone
is friendly but no one interferes with others. There is an incredible 4th of July party with
professional fireworks and several other neighborhood gatherings throughout the year. A mix of
ages so something for everyone. I will definitely miss the unmatched sense of pride of ownership
every homeowner has for their home and property.
Q: CAN YOU SHARE ANYTHING ABOUT THE GROUNDS?
A: I would wake up and look out at the pond and just breathe in the calmness. Whether looking at
aquatic life, fishing, kayaking, skating, it has brought the whole family so much joy! Our property
goes deep into the woods and every year the boys would have a camp out for their birthday
parties...oh so unforgettable! The kids' friends would all come to our house, which was fabulous
as it was nice to watch them all grow up, whether they were sledding, building snow forts and
snowmen, hiking from the back yard to Aspetuck trail, paintball in the woods, skateboarding or
riding bikes on the cul-de-sac, it was a dream childhood for the boys. And we have created such
a beautiful collection of birds that we watch every single day. They are all just so beautiful and
peaceful. I will be happy to share my knowledge with the new owner.
Q: WHY ARE YOU MOVING?
A: With the boys grown and not close by to spend time here with us, we are downsizing. As hard as
it is to leave, we would like to be closer to them. It has been an absolutely amazing place to raise
our family and has not been an easy decision.
Q: DID YOU EVER THINK OF PUTTING A POOL IN?
A: Yes, we almost did. We even had a rendering done. We just never got to it. Perhaps the new
family will as there is plenty of room for one.
