CREATING THE “ CREATING JOINT AND NETWORKED EFFECTS WILL
BE THE RESULT OF A DELIBERATE AND SUSTAINED
EFFORT TO TRANSFORM IN THE INFORMATION AGE.”
FORCE OF THE
FUTURE Never before has innovation and technology offered so
many opportunities. Organisations that can embrace this
unprecedented pace of change will have the opportunity
to shape the future.
Air Force has a unique opportunity to become the world’s
first 5th generation force – integrated across Defence,
and connected across all platforms and capabilities. Our
people will be central to this achievement – creating joint
and networked effects will be the result of a deliberate and
sustained effort to transform in the information age.
We will make these changes through Plan Jericho. We
will embrace change and challenge new ways of thinking
and operating. We will work with Army and Navy, with our
allies, with industry and academia to ensure we are evolving
to meet the challenges of increasingly complex and lethal
threats.
We have already made significant progress, and I invite
you to take advantage of the displays we have prepared,
in collaboration with our industry partners, to showcase
Plan Jericho at the Australian International Airshow. I would
highlight the insights in this magazine as a representation of
how our collaboration and innovation is developing.
There is more to achieve with Plan Jericho, however with
the progress to date the future looks bright. Together with
industry, our Air Force will become a force of the future.
