OPERATIONS IS Our combined vision for Defence is to enhance
airbase operations by providing innovative decision
support information technologies that enable rapid,
re-usable and repeatable planning and execution
responses to aerospace operations. The increasing
complexity of airbase support to aerospace
warfighting platforms presents an opportunity for
THE AIRBASE Australian, allied, and Defence industries to partner in
developing better solutions.
Airbase commanders should have access to the latest
generation technologies to effectively command, control
and coordinate functional responses to aerospace
demands, and to provide appropriate tactical level input to
higher headquarters. The command function is pervasive
across Defence and extends beyond the airbase to Service
and Joint commanders, including airbase information
to support command decisions. Therefore, while
technology will enable pre-emptive responses to airbase
aerospace demands at the tactical level, operational and
strategic commanders across Defence will benefit from
that information to undertake future aerospace combat
initiatives.
We believe our joint vision can be achieved through
industry and Defence partnerships and the agile
development opportunities inherent in the Jericho Project.
We see the Jericho project as an ideal foundation to
explore innovative solutions to complex aerospace
operations support challenges, and to develop capabilities
that will support Defence into the future.
