A Journey You Make Often
The journey that I make often is very simple, the path between my home and school.
I don’t know the specific distance between these two, it depends on how the day
feels. When I’m tired, rushed, or have forgotten something important, my home
seems to escape from me—it feels like two poles of the world. When someone takes
me home, the distance becomes incredibly short, like we’re flying in a rocket. But
mostly, I go home by myself, which is relaxing and interesting.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the rush hours of traffic, I mostly sleep if I go by bus. When I
take a chair, it turns into the softest sofa made of luxury feathers in a second. The
chair whispers in my ear, “Sleep, please sleep. You want it too, right?” and I fall
asleep quickly. But I’m not the only one who falls asleep on the bus, I think everyone
feels the way I do. Some of them are reading their class materials, others are watching
movies, scrolling through social media, or just observing the places around us through
the window. I feel and see the rushing city life through their eyes and movements, no
matter their age.
If the road is too congested, I need to walk home. The path I walk crosses through
the liveliest part of the city. I see accessory shops, schools, offices, malls, post offices,
restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. I hear the loud horns of cars in traffic jams, the noise
of people talking and laughing, and the sound of footsteps. Some places are crowded
with people, others are silent. I love observing the environment and the people
walking in the street. Some walk quickly and purposefully. Groups of friends laugh
beautifully together. Children who have just left kindergarten jump and talk non-stop.
I see someone who might have had a bad day at the office. Everyone carries their own
load and happiness, and I notice how they react to the challenges they face.
Some people might think I’m strange, but I find relaxation by seeing the world
without thinking about anything.
