Being a Woman
These days, society's facing several difficulties, which are especially hard for women to deal with.
Obviously, negative impacts of patriarchy and sexism have been reduced in the past few centuries, but there
are still a lot of problems left.
In history, there were always more opportunities and chances for men than women had and that can be
seen from any historical source you would find. However, in today's world, women still have more pressure in
balancing their work and home life than men in general. There is a norm that society has normalized, which is
that women have to take care of kids and do all houseworks instead of developing personally or improving
their career while men must focus on the job they have and earn money to provide their family with some
food and a roof. Obviously, there are some women who would rather staying at home and care about their
houseworks and family than working, but also, the others who want to focus on self-improvement are also
there too. The ratio of women and men having stable work is relatively "UNFAIR" anywhere in the world. This
problem is caused by expectations that society has such as gender roles and lack of education on gender
equality.
First of all, social standards should be changed by improving the educational level of people on gender
equality and work-home balance. For instance, governments can introduce new laws about household and
professional balancing. Also, employers need to have some policies on their working hours and hiring
requirements to help women to overcome this issue. Despite that, women themselves can do something for
their rights. They need to recognize their skills and hobbies and should be aware of their authentic self
because it will help them to spread awareness and be noticed by those who can show a large amount of help.
All of these together can have positive impacts on women's mental and physical being as these are strong
enough to make improvement in this problem. In conclusion, it is not a problem which can be solved by only
one action. Therefore, individuals, corporations and governments are required to try their best on their own to
change society on balancing work and home responsibilities and gender issues.
