 CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
Facing page: A tiny Malachite Kingfisher adds a dash of colour to the landscape. These winged jewels are proficient hunters, darting in and out of reed beds in search of small fish.
Top: A male Lion lies in wait at a water hole in the dry interior of Savute in September in Chobe National Park. Lions thrive here and they have featured in many a documentary on the park.
Above: A young Impala is the subject of interest for a red-billed Oxpecker who is gathering material for nest building. The Oxpeckers thrive here with such an abundance of mammals.
