IContributed by Susan Fuller-Sutherland
was really excited about get-
ting an oppoturtunity to attend
the ProMat 2015 trade show
this year at Mccormick Place in
Chicago. I flew up the morning of
the event, which happened to be
a day after a late and unexpected
snow storm blew in, which chal-
lenged everyone’s plans for the
day of the storm and the day after,
mucking up transportation ar-
rangements and generally delay-
ing everything a little.

When I arrived at the show, I was
really astounded by the number
of people milling about. It was a
pretty large show, and it was very
busy. One thing that surprised me
was how international the show
was. Somehow, I hadn’t expected
that. There were a lot of European
and Chinese companies repre-
sented, but also a lot of Europeans
attending the show.

I wasn’t able to spend as much
time as I would have liked at the
show, but I was still able to get
around most of the exhibits, spot
about 8 competitor caster com-
paies including Blickle, Hamilton,
Caster Concepts, Darcor and
several others. I also got to meet
a couple of the New Age people
that were manning their booth,
and chat with a nice lady about
their reaction to the show, which
they said was very positive. They
reported that they were getting a
really good response.
