8. Performing the test
The HG COVID-19 assay can be performed in either direct (non-extracted) format or used together with commercial RNA extraction kit.
8.1 Direct format
The flowchart below summarizes the workflow to be followed for the direct format:
Preparation of Enhanced Buffer: Add 250μl of COVID-19 Dilution Buffer to a vial of lyophilised COVID-19 Enhancer.
Collect swab with validated swab type and transport media
Mix by vortexing for 10 secs.
Transfer 35μl of the transport media to a vial of Enhanced Buffer
Mix diluted sample by vortexing for 10 secs
Lyse sample at 95°C for 5min
