4.1 Master Alarm and Area Alarm Front Panels (not Including Area
Alarm Modules)
Tools required: 5/32" hex wrench
Phillips head screwdriver
The front panels of the Master Alarm and Area Alarm are very similar. This
procedure explains what is involved with replacing just the front panel.
Removal
1. To replace the Master Alarm Module, go to procedure 4.2 on page 4-10.
2. To replace an Area Alarm module, go to procedure 4.9 on page 4-26.
3. To replace an Area Alarm Connector P.C. Board or Network
Communications Board, go to procedure 4.8 on page 4-24.
4. Unlock the front panel (A) (see figure 4-1 on page 4-7) or (see figure 4-2
on page 4-8):
• If removing a front panel from an original MedPlus TotalAlert™
Alarm Network, see figure 4-1 on page 4-7.
• If removing a front panel from a MedPlus TotalAlert™ Alarm
Network Conversion Kit, see figure 4-2 on page 4-8.
SHOCK HAZARD:
Turn off the power supply in the alarm, and leave it off during the
installation or replacement of any component or sub-assembly. Failure
to do so could result in personal injury or equipment damage.
5. Turn the power switch (F) to the OFF position.
6. Push open the ears (E) of the connectors to remove the ribbon cables (B).
7. Remove the four screws (C) that secure the front panel (A) to the rough-in
assembly (D).
8. If there is an Ethernet cable connected, unplug it.
9. Remove the front panel (A).
