“The goal of early childhood education should be
to activate the child's own natural
desire to learn.”
Maria Montessori
The most important contribution of Montessori education is that it
focuses attention on the fact that no attempt to solve social and moral
problems will succeed if it concentrates only on man, the adult and
his activities. It is the young child who determines man’s future as an
adult member of the society.
Having a better understanding of children is the best way to under-
stand ourselves and the reality around us. The child with its univer-
sal, physical and intellectual potential is a miracle standing in front of
us, although it is only in the last few decades that we have realized
this. Knowledge of the child should become the centre of our interest
and the basis of a new form of education, which serves to help human
beings to reach a high level of emotional, intellectual and moral inte-
gration.
In our school we provide a prepared environment for children at each
successive development plane where children are free to work. The
child’s innate passion for learning is encouraged by giving opportuni-
ties to be engaged in spontaneous purposeful activities with the guid-
ance of a trained adult.
Together let us strive to build a sense of community and trust be-
tween children, parents and staff.
