Design
Industrial Design.
A process which is applied to products that will be manufactured through mass production techniques. The goal of the Final Design
industrial design process is to develop products in a way that is mutually beneficial for both the end user and the manufacturer.
The end goal of the process is to strike a balance between form, materials, manufacturing techniques, transport, installation, Final
maintenance, aesthetics, and of course, cost. Review
Refinement
Design is a process, not improvisation. Engineering
Projects may vary, but the starting point is always the same. An idea, a simple sketch on a piece of paper, a concept... Refinement
The initial idea is developed into the Design Brief which will serve as the foundation of the design. The design team’s job is
to guide the concept through the process of development, review, and refinement until said product is deemed to be ready
for production.
Research, 2D sketches, 3D models, visualisations, and prototypes are all tools used by the design team to keep the project
focused and ensure the intended design is conveyed to the engineering team.
