1C. Equipment Covers - Covering equipment with stretch wrap can create risk of foreign material. Using appropriate material and completing regular equipment cover inspections can reduce the potential risk of foreign material. See recommended approaches below.
• Stretchwrapshouldbeavoidedasanequipmentcover.
• Whenavailable,afitforpurposecoverofhygienicdesignshould be used. If this is not feasible, a thicker gauge liner should be used (recommended ≥ 3 mil. thickness).
• Linershouldbeacontrastingcolorfromequipment,conveyors and product color
• Allcoversshouldbeaccountedforandinspectedpre-andpost-use.
