5C. Metal detection/ X-Ray system
• Where metal has been identified as a risk, a metal detection or X-Ray system ensures that foreign material is contained within the process.
• Metal detectors allow for manufacturing sites to create an easily monitored environment when using metal detectable pens, utensils, PPE etc.
• All metal detection/X-ray systems should be validated and verified based off suppliers’ risk assessment.
Note: All FM found during routine inspections should be stored to document, educate and create awareness of what’s being found with this equipment.
