SUMMER SAFETY TIPS By BCAC ERT Committee
Summer Breeze makes me feel fine
Blowin’ through the jasmine in my mind
It’s all in my mind . It’s Summertime!
As we gear up for the SUMMER, let’s keep these Safety Tips in mind:
Get yourself, family and friends VACCINATED!!! Continue to wear your mask when warranted.
Hurricane season is here! Now is the time to prepare! Let’s Be Delta Ready!
Water Safety is a must in South Florida! When boating, provide a life jacket for everyone on board. CHILDREN
should ALWAYS be SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT (headcounts are imperative)!!!
Florida is the Lightning Capital of America! In the event of lightning or thunderstorms, seek indoor shelter immedi-
ately.
Mosquitoes, insects, and bugs are out in full force! Wear long sleeves and apply insect repellent when going out
in the early evenings. Remove all standing water from outdoor areas to prevent insect breeding.
Stay Hydrated! During the summer months, the sun and the heat index are INTENSE. Make sure to drink plenty
of water. Remember, strenuous physical activity should be limited to the early morning or evening hours.
Have a SUNsational FUNtastic Summer

We Stayed Busy in the work of DELTA! BCAC served as a participating community partner in working to close the
health disparity gap in Covid-19 outcomes and provide assistance in securing vaccination appointments in conjunction with Jack-
son Health System. For 10 weeks our Covid-19 Vaccine Outreach expedited appointments for members of our community as
we worked diligently to ensure that the current eligibility information was known. The program administrator graciously
thanked us for our support in making the initiative a success.
