I f you like to
      be around

      people when
      you camp, then
      I suggest you
      head towards
      Tracks 1-8 but if
      your like us, and
      want some
      peace and quiet,

      then I would
      recommend you
      head up the
      beach to Tracks
      9 – 12.

      We had soon set
up camp nestled Click here to view the Live2Camp video
      between the
trees of the sand dunes, had a fire

on the go and not a soul in sight! It experienced!
was then time, after a day of On the first night, whilst enjoy a
travel, to take the dogs down the frothy one around the fire, a koala
beach and let them run off the decided to stroll through our
cobwebs. campsite like he was heading down

It was at this time that we came the shops to pick up some leaves.
face to face with the Ranger! And And then there were the kangaroos
this wasn’t to be our only time we who have definitely learnt to live
had a run in with the Ranger.. hand in hand with all the campers.

Don’t get me wrong, Rangers do a We really did enjoy our couple of
fantastic job and I really appreciate days on at North Stradbroke Island
the work they do. But if you’re and even with a few run ins with
going to allow dogs to camp there the Ranger, it is well worth the trip.
you have to be a bit more But I have to say, that as a 4wd
understanding about letting them driver and for roughly the same

have a run on a beach. If you have cost, I would probably prefer to go
a dog like us, a kelpie, trying to to Morton Island next time. Not
keep her on a lead on a beach is that I’m complaining about a
like trying to hold back the tide! couple of days camping on the

Out of all the camping I have done beach!
over the years, I would have to say Happy Camping!
      that camping on Stradbroke Island
provided us with some of the best
wildlife encounters we have ever Matt Bloomfield
