The Community Capital Foundation (CCF), now in its third year, continued its focus on fostering generosity and facilitating connection between those who want to give and those seeking to make change for the better.
CCF continued to identify local organisations who could benefit from a capital injection to build capacity and further develop programs that support the local community.
In its first and second grant round, CCF provided over $100,00 in funding to six organisations to allow them to continue their wonderful work.
These included, Top Blokes, Rizeup, Dance Health Alliance, We Care Connect, Gunawirra and Marion Street Theatre for Young People.
The focus for the third grant round is on youth mental health.
Give Where You Live Workshops
We continued our Give Where You Live project, conducting workshops locally throughout the year. These are tailored to organisations who want to contribute to positive change through the giving of time, treasure or talent.
organisations who want to contribute to positive change through the giving of time, treasure or talent.
Conversations about giving well were held with local Rotary groups, as well as using other speaking opportunities such as a Kindness event to join Hugh McKay in promoting the importance and benefit of giving back to your local community.
Youth Mental Health
CCF was involved in a documentary titled 'Connecting the Dots' which aimed to engage the community in conversations around Youth Mental Health.
It was clear from both data and conversations with young people, that they want to be heard. This led to the establishment of the Youth Mental Health Advisory Group. These Youth Ambassadors guided the grant round for 2022. With the support of the Macquarie Group Foundation, funds were raised to help deliver the 2022-23 programs.
