UNDER 10 – AGE CO-ORDINATOR’S REPORT
It has been a great year of learning and skill development for our U10’s. Our focus has been on improving our running between wickets; bowling straight to avoid the dreaded wide or no-ball, blocking the good ball and hitting the bad ball; catching the high balls; throwing straight at the stumps; backing up and walking in with the bowler.
We have seen in the transition from soft to hard ball with the odd bruise or tear and trying to avoid any broken windows in the process. Learning to wear our helmets so that they fit on our heads and that we can see the ball.
Our U10’s have focused on having fun and enjoying the game. We learnt about tragedy with the loss of Phil Hughes and that we wear a black armband to remember a cricketer who is no longer with us. Our U10’s have learnt that winning isn’t everything and that our game is about having fun with our mates each Saturday.
I would like to thank our great coaches and managers for their dedication and giving up their time each week to allow our U10’s to enjoy this great game. A big thank you to all the parents for: setting up fields, putting stumps in, scoring, umpiring and helping out all year.
Have a restful offseason and I look forward to seeing you all back next year.
