Conducting an Effective Sales Training Session
• Maximum duration 45 to 60 minutes.
• Preferably early morning: the mind is clearer and more retentive.
• Explaintheaim,formatandexpectedresultsofthesession,clearlyandconcisely.
• Hand out individual copies of the training session details with the accompanying ‘Personal Summary Notes’ page. (Photocopied from manual/printed from CLOUD, hole-punched for insertion into individual Sales Consultant Training Folders)
• Run through the Key Points of the session. (Use no more than 50% of total session time.)
• Explaintherole-playingactivity.(Examplesofrole-playscenariosshouldbe pre-determined and pre-printed to save time in the actual session.)
• Engage in the role-play activities.
• Ask for questions and comments on how the skills will be implemented into daily activities. Important points to be noted on the Personal Summary Notes page.
• Ensure the session handout is secured in each personal Sales Consultant Training Folder and the details noted in the folder index. (Topic/date)
• Note details of the training session in the Dealership Sales T eam T raining Register .
• Delegate responsibility for conducting Training Sessions amongst your Sales Consultants. It builds their presentation skills and provides variety of approach.
