The Ahr: small, but delicious

„Red wine is for old boys, one of the best gifts!“ according to the poet Wilhelm Busch. It is not only recent, medical research that agrees with him, the tourists also enjoy the great wines a thousand times over at the wine restaurants of the Ahr. On wee- kends it is often dif cult to nd an unoccupied, cosy spot in the red wine para- dise. Meanwhile, on foot or on bicycles, lively visitors roam through the vineyards between Bad-Bodendorf and Altenahr. Out of necessity, the wine growers in Ger- many‘s fourth-smallest wine-growing region were able to combine winemaking, wine consumption and wine tourism skillfully and secure a sustainable livelihood.
