Rolling with the speed rollers
A join(t)ed venture between two
industry friends led to one of the
coolest cannabis attractions the
cannabis community has seen –
speed rolling.
In 2018 Aaptwak, Together We
Heal and Puff Daddy came up with
the concept of speed rolling
competition which saw them
collaborating and taking the
industry by what can only be
described as a smoke storm.
The competition quickly drew a lot
of attention and saw the trio
appear at various cannabis expos
with the competition.
Last year December Aaptwak set
the record as the fastest speed
roller when he rolled a joint in 3, 5
seconds. Yes, 3.5 seconds!
The team attracted a lot of
sponsors and was set to tour the
country in 2020 when the plans to
take the speed rolling on the road
was stopped by the Covid-19
pandemic regulations.
Frikkie VD Merwe, Philanthropist,
Cannabis activist, and founder of
Together We Heal said the speed
rolling idea was born when he and
a competitive friend sat in a flat in
Silverton in Pretoria and
challenged each other to see who
could roll the fastest joint.
“I can't even remember who won
who by a second but he clearly
remembers his friends joint being
perfect versus his crooked joint.
