Nuclear Energy
In 2008, the UAE published a treaty allowing
them to peacefully use nuclear energy. In
2013, The construction of 4 nuclear plants
began in the UAE, they have the ability to
produce 1,500 MW of energy.

nuclear energy in the UAE is set to produce
25% of the total energy in the UAE by 2050
The biggest nuclear plant in the UAE and
currently the only one to be almost fully
constructed, is the Barakah Nuclear Plant.
The plant is supposedly going to help
reduce the country’s carbon footprint as it
will help remove almost 12 million tons of
carbon emissions from the atmosphere in
the UAE.
