            4.4.2 Research

            While working on the back end admin panel, there were still some research questions that I had left unanswered. There
            were 2 main questions: “What are the best SEO methods for videos and video platforms?” and “What is the effect of the
            growth of mobile videos?”. With the second question, came 2 sub questions: “How do mobile videos influence the video
            platform?” and “How does the use of mobile videos bring more viewers and growth to the website?”.

            I started with the second question, beginning with the library strategy. I went back to the results of the previous research
            questions. I already researched what role mobile resizing was playing online. In the article “Cisco’s Global Mobile Data
            Traffic Forecast”, we had found that two thirds of the world’s mobile data traffic will be video by 2017 [8]. However the
            article is very detailed and contains a lot more information. The company Cisco had done research and they had found that
            global mobile data traffic grew 69% in 2014. The global mobile data traffic had actually reached 2.5 exabytes per month at
            the end of 2014 [8]. With this growth more and more effort is being put to have a working version of a website for mobile.
            The effect of this growth of mobile videos was that more and more people would surf to the video platform with their
            mobile devices. If the video platform was not adapted so that it would work
            on mobile, it meant it would lose a tremendous amount of visitors.
            According to the research done by Cisco: last year’s mobile data traffic was
            nearly 30 times the size of the entire global Internet in 2000 [8].
            Mobile video played a huge role for a company that wanted to host its own
            video platform. It was a very big part of the overall traffic that would go to
            the video platform. Having a video platform without any traffic and visitors
            was worthless. However having a video platform that resized and worked
            on every mobile device; it would not only satisfy the visitors’ needs, but it
            would also increase the traffic to the video platform and thus satisfying the
            clients’ needs.
            This meant that the video platform should resize accordingly to any screen
            size of mobile devices. In figure 23 you can see how the video platform that I
            have created resizes according to smaller screens.

            With the library strategy I finally started looking for information to be able
            to answer my last research question: “What are the best SEO methods for
            videos and video platforms?”.

            SEO was all about the meta data ; this meant that on every page there
            should be the meta-title and meta-description. These meta data would help
            out the search engines, so that the search engine could index the pages
            quicker and with more information. While using the library strategy I came
            across other great methods in improving SEO for a video platform; a
            method was to host the videos on your own domain [10], which of course
            our video platform would be doing. Having the videos on your own domain
            would add more value to the website and its pages.

                5: Meta data are small tags that are added to the source of a website page. The meta data gives the information to the search engines, that is
            needed to be ranked and indexed. Users would then be able to find your website, through search results of the search engines.
