ow what a year it’s been! But the lengthening days and warmer weather give
us hope of sunnier days ahead. We hope this issue brings you joy and inspira-
tion as we celebrate the favorites in our Readers’ Choice survey. Covering
Wa range of topics from dining, drinking, and shopping, to health and beauty
services, gym, schools, events, and the arts. Lots has changed over the course of the year, but
we appreciate those still doing what they do, and doing it well! We hope you enjoy the beauti-
ful photography (beginning on page 78) by Jerry Clarkson who photographed the winners all
around the Valley, while David Gibb spent some quality time at Red Lily and Elder Apothecary.
On page 48, writer Pamela Gibson takes us on a drive through safari with an in depth look
at Wildlife Safari, Winston. Don’t miss the delicious article by Lisa Manyon about Cocorico
(page 110) and an entire dining guide written by Liza Zimmerman, featuring great summer
Heidi Chackel, Editor eats all along the Rogue (page 116). Krissy Milner shares some great ideas on creating a home
office that is as comfortable and efficient as it is beautiful. Another nod to beautiful design is
Val Coulman’s article about the completely redesigned and rebuilt YMCA Camp DeBoer on
Lake of the Woods. Great writing and beautiful photography illustrate the massive scope of
the project, made possible by the generosity, vision, hard work, and foresight of Sid and Karen
DeBoer who have created a space that will be providing amazing memories for generations to
come (page 52).
