WHAT’S NEW

                       SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

               THE FARMERS’ MARKET IS OPEN

he Rogue Valley Growers & Crafters Market kicked off its 34th
          Toutdoor season in early March.

The market, with 150+ vendors, creates a local opportunity for peo-
ple to shop for their essentials in an open outdoor air environment – to
buy fresh, local produce, fresh-cut flowers, artisan foods and hand-
crafted gifts – with COVID-19 safety measures for shoppers, vendors,
          and staff.

“Farmers’ market enthusiasts can expect to see their favorite vendors
return and this year can enjoy 22 new merchants, who have been
tightly juried to capture the quality of our markets along with strict
COVID-19 safety training,” according to Board President Jon Steiger
from By George Farms. “So many of our customers greet old friends
and make new ones. Eating local is such a positive way of staying
healthy, nourishing the people you love and supporting our commu-
nity,” says Executive Director Daria Land. “We are so grateful to have
made it through our first COVID-19 season in 2020 and feel a large
part of this achievement was due to the support of our Rogue Valley
community. We look forward to serving you in 2021.”

                         A NEW NONPROFIT

          ROGUE VALLEY HOUSING SOLUTIONS

A new nonprofit has been formed to facilitate community collaboration to find and imple-
ment housing solutions. Karen Logan, Executive Director, is a real estate broker and an
affordable housing advocate. Kadyn Jones, Events Coordinator, is a recent SOU graduate
and who interned with a disaster recovery group organized by Local Innovation Lab.

Rogue Valley Housing Solutions announced, starting in February, the “Learn From the
Experts” Zoom Series every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Experts are presenting topics related to
housing issues caused by disasters that impact business districts and infrastructure, as well
as homes. The three most identified barriers are financial resource, land use, and zoning.

The Zoom Series will create a space for collaboration between builders, real estate profes-
sionals, elected officials, nonprofit organizations, and community members to find housing
solutions. Experts will provide how-tos for housing solutions and supporting documents
for implementation to be shared with the community. The Zoom link can be used for all of
the events. After a brief break, they are projecting to launch their second “Learn From the
          Experts” Series on May 4th.
