                                                               LAUNCHING OF UNITEN ELECTRIC bUS

                                                               29 September 2019
                                                               In support of UNITEN Smart UniverCity, Datuk
                                                               Viswanathan Subramaniam, TNB Head of Fleet
                                                               Management Department, paid a visit to UNITEN
                                                               and launched UNITEN Electric Bus. Witnessing the
                                                               event were UNITEN Management, Fleet Management
                                                               Department, GoAuto representatives, and UNITEN staff
                                                               and students. The guests, then, took to the Facility
                                                               Development & Management (FDM) Department to
                                                               experience the electric vehicle.



              REACH FOR OrANg ASLI: A SOCIAL
              INCLUSION ENGLISH PROGRAM

              15 November 2019
              A total of 83 indigenous students from Pusat Intelek Pelajar
              Orang Asli (PIPOA) participated in a CSR English Program
              organized by UNITEN KSHAS that involved 18 lecturers
              as program advisors and 24 students as facilitators. This
              program was aimed to boost indigenous students’ self-
              motivation in learning English language, as it could help
              them at universities later and broaden their opportunities
              in the working world. Mr. Hirudin Mohit, an officer from
              the State Education Department officiated the program
              which was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hj. Amanuddin
              Shamsuddin, the Dean of College of Business & Accounting
              (COBA) and Mr. Shamsuri Dolah, PIPOA Officer.
                                                              INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DAM
                                                              SAFETY MANAGEMENT AND ENGINEERING
                                                              (ICDSME) 2019
                                                              19 – 21 November 2019
                                                              The first International Conference on Dam Safety Management
                                                              and Engineering (ICDSME) 2019 was hosted by the Malaysian
                                                              National Committee on Large Dams (MYCOLD) and jointly
                                                              organized by TNB, Department of Irrigation and Drainage
                                                              (DID) and UNITEN at the Wembley Hotel, Penang. The theme
                                                              of the conference is “Resilient Dams for Safe Communities”
                                                              and it successfully brought together dam professionals and
                                                              experts in the various interrelated disciplines from around the
                                                              world to share their experience and develop key contacts for
                                                              future collaboration on projects and initiatives which ensure
                                                              safe and secure dams are constructed and maintained for
                                                              the benefit of the community.
