2019 Achievement Highlights

ENDOWMENT

Yayasan Canselor UNITEN (YCU) and Tabung Amanah Zakat UNITEN
(TAZU) are two entities that belong to UNITEN as a perpetual source of
support for the University. YCU is a trust foundation established by UNITEN
that functions as a center to receive and administer funds for education,
and financial assistance in enhancing public welfare, while TAZU is the
Assistant Amil on behalf of the Trustee of the Selangor Zakat Board
(LZS). Subsequently, on 2 September 2010, UNITEN and LZS signed a
Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) of UNITEN Appointment as Assistant
Amil and officially established TAZU. TAZU is as an alternative source of
finance to help eligible students who belong to Asnaf Zakat to receive
assistance in continuing their studies. Later, on 18 January 2018, UNITEN
and Perbadanan Wakaf Selangor (PWS) signed an MoA which resulted
in the establishment of Dana Wakaf Ilmu (DWI) which is in line with the
University’s aspiration to initiate sustainable financial infrastructure to
take care of the welfare of UNITEN students, specifically, and UNITEN
community, generally.

These entities receive contributions and distribute them to deserving
and needy students, and eligible staff. Having received endless support
and commitment from everyone, UNITEN wishes to thank everyone who
has contributed to these two entities.
