P. 19

If a student violates the electronic device policy the following protocol will be enforced:

First Offense: Electronic device will be turned in to the administration.
                   • Parent will pick up the device after three school days.
                   • Parent may pick up the device at the close of the school day (3:00 pm-3:30 pm) or give an
adult written permission to pick it up. If you allow an adult to pick up the device with a
note, the school will ask the adult for a valid ID.

Second Offense: Student assigned administrative detention.
                   • Parent may pick up the device after five school days at the end of the day (See First
                       Offense).

Third Offense: Student assigned time-out in the office.
                   • Parent may pick up the device after ten school days
                   • Mandatory parent conference is held

Fourth Offense: Student will be suspended for one day for each offense due to defiance.
                   • Parent may pick up the device at the end of the day (See First Offense pick up details).

If the parent is adamant that they cannot allow the device to be held for the number of days listed,
then the parent/guardian can choose for their student to accept a one-day out of school
suspension in lieu of holding the device.

                                                      Chromebooks

All students have been issued a Chromebook (to include Case and Charger) to use during the
school day. Students must be responsible for their Chromebook/Case/Charger at all times. In an
effort to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars, students must be responsible for the care of their
Chromebook and not damage it in any way. Chromebooks are to be carried in a case at all times
when not in use. Students who damage Chromebooks and/or accessories can be assessed a
replacement fee as per Board (see MCSD Board Policy JS: Student Fees, Fines, and Charges).

                                                                                                         TOC
