JUSTINE-THOMAS
KINDERGARTEN & PRIMARY SCHOOL
YEAR BOOK 2019
To the students of Justine Thomas
I want to thank you for being such powerful and
gifted students. I know that each and every one
of you is brilliant in your own special way. You
truly are the future leaders of the world. God has
brought you here for a specific purpose and to
deliver a unique message. Your primary job in
this life is to discover your purpose and enjoy the
search for it.
I once walked through the same hallways and
sat in the same chairs that you did. I played
football outside until the teachers ushered us
back inside for class. In the Christmas play, I
acted as “Joseph” as we told the story of baby
Jesus. While all the teachers encouraged me to
follow my dreams, little did they know that one
day I would become an international superstar.
To be honest, I didn't know then either. I had
many visions of what I would become until I
settledon becoming an artist.
The way I was able to understand my purpose was by traveling. You do not need to leave the country
to travel, nor do you need money to travel. You can travel by reading books, playing with toys, or
watching a movie. When I was your age, my family would travel to Nike Lake or to Ngwo forest.
Sometimes, we would leave Enugu to visit my cousins in Anambra. Whether I was on a journey down
the street or to another state or in another book, I was always learning something new that would
allow me to dream bigger and wider. Dreaming is only half the battle.
You must also protect your dreams. On this journey called life, there will be many people who tell you
that what you dream is impossible. Most of these people have given up on their own dreams, so how
can they see yours? Sometimes, even your own friends, siblings, and parents may not see as far as
you do. Everything around you was originally someone's dream- the pencil, the traffic light, the
airplane, the computer, the cell phone...everything was created out of thin air after someone dreamt
of it. When I told my father that I wanted to become a musician, he laughed at me and tried to make
me become an engineer or at least a doctor or lawyer. God had other plans for me, however, and I
now I know that my father is proudly smiling down at me.
The name Enugu means “hilltop.” So many great people have come from Enugu and I believe it is
because we live in a city of hills. The hills and mountains are God's skyscrapers. When you climb to
the top of a hill, you are able to see further than everyone else in town. I challenge each and everyone
of you to climb your own mountain so that you can see further than everyone around you. On the way
up and at the top, you will discover something about yourself so long as you stay open to learning
along the way.
I dare you to learn. I dare you to travel. I dare you to dream.
Sincerely,
Jidenna Dike Mobisson
