MLK Day of Service
This event ended at 12:00 noon and Cassandra E.
Brown, the President of the Montgomery (AL) Alum-
nae Chapter was proud to present to Nancy Fitzpat-
rick, the Executive Director of MACH 57 large bags
of donated items. These bags included eighty-five
blankets, two-hundred and three coats, thirty-three
sweaters, one-hundred and four items of women’s
clothing, seventy-five items of men’s clothing, one
hundred and thirty-six items of children’s clothing,
two hundred and twenty-two pairs of socks, thirty-six
pairs of shoes, one thousand one hundred and seventy-
nine hygiene products and one hundred and fifty-
seven miscellaneous items such as scarves, gloves and
hats. In addition to these items a one-hundred dollar
check was received from a personal donator and the
Montgomery (AL) Alumnae Chapter contributed a
two-hundred dollar donation to assist with providing
needed funds to MACH.
Cathey Hendricks, the Chair of the Community Out-
reach Committee, would like to thank Jesscya M. Dar-
rington, Co-Chair, Jimmetta Gourdine and Vera
Dupree, Coordinators of the MLK Day of Service and
subcommittee members Jacquelyne Canty, Judy John-
son, Princess Harper and Brandy Howard Stanford, as
well as Mona Davis the Chair of the Publicity Com-
mittee, members of the chapter and community for
their support in making this event a success. If you
were off on our day on the Montgomery (AL) Alum-
nae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is
“Committed to IMPACTFUL Service” and will con-
tinue to collect personal hygiene products to donate to
MACH on a monthly basis.
